1stDrive.ie was founded in 2011 with the goal of providing Transition Year students with a safe, off-road environment to have their first driving experience and to give road safety training.
1stDrive.ie's founder, John Quinlivan, has been involved with vehicles and driving all his working life. He is a qualified motor mechanic and throughout his career has driven buses, trucks and all types of cars professionally. He is a previous winner of the safe driver of the year title and has also represented Ireland in international safe driving competitions. He has been employed as a chauffeur for almost 30 years, is a member of the Institute of Advanced Motorists and qualified as an RSA approved driving instructor (ADI) at the Irish School of Motoring's Driving Instructor College.
Our classroom sessions are given by Joe, who has been a primary school teacher for 38 years and a headmaster for two years.
